Route Summary

After you’ve settled in, take some time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. Our knowledgeable team will thoroughly check your trekking and climbing equipment the next day. Prepare for a thrilling flight to Lukla, where your journey truly begins. From there, the group will trek to Phakding, the first stop in the breathtaking Khumbu region. The following day, we’ll move to Namche Bazar, an economic hub nestled at the foothills of majestic mountains. A day of rest here will be an opportunity to hike up to the Everest View Hotel, a vantage point that offers a stunning panorama of the surrounding giants. After acclimatization activities, we’ll head to Dingboche, a charming Sherpa settlement at the base of Amadablam. To further acclimatize, we’ll take you up to Nagarjuna Danda, a high point that offers a mesmerizing view of the dominating mountains in the region. The trek continues to Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar, the only spot to catch a close-up view of Everest, the world’s highest peak.

By now, your body has acclimatized to the heights and atmosphere of the Island Peak region, ensuring a smooth ascent. From Dingboche, the route to Island Peak is divided, and we’ll guide you via the Chukkung Sherpa settlement to the Island Base Camp. Upon arrival, we’ll provide comprehensive training on using ropes and safety belts, ensuring your safety throughout the climb. The next day, we’ll focus on dedicated climbing training and safety precautions on the trail, further boosting your confidence.

On the following training day, the team will head to win over the giant safely and successfully.
Upon achieving the height, the team follows the back route to Lukla and then to Kathmandu by flight.

Recommended best time to climb Island Peak?

The best times to climb Island Peak are Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). These seasons offer clear blue skies and mild weather conditions. Climbing during winter and monsoon is unpredictably harsh in weather and relatively conditions that can raise safety concerns.

Grade and difficulty of Island Peak Climbing?

This information might help you reach Everest Base Camp first and come down to the challenges that make your body fitter, bringing you more chances to scale the successful summit as one should have good physical fitness and enough acclimatization days. Although the journey of climbing Island Peak might seem daunting, it is classified as strenuous; making a round of Everest foothills offers an excellent opportunity to stand on the top of the Peak. This challenging yet thrilling trek is perfect for those who seek a more adventurous experience. With the guidance of our highly experienced guide, you can achieve the goal. Do not worry; join us.

Are you looking for an alternative route?

Explore the one below; it may meet what you wished for.
Lobuche Peak (6119m) can be a good option in place of Island Peak. Lobuche Peak is considered relatively more straightforward to climb than Island Peak. The 17 or 18-day itinerary covers most of the high passes trekking that starts from Lukla to Gokyo Peak and then comes across the Chola pass to the ultimate trekking destination, Kalapathar, which will then forward the climber to the Lobuche basecamp.

Climbing or doing some adventurous activities, the mountain trekker needs its body to acclimate to the atmosphere where it wants to pitch the activities. Trekking from Lukla to Kalapathar through Gokyo Peak is an excellent route that provides climbers with the most likely opportunity to acclimate.

Once the body is acclimatized and stamina is made, climbing the peak becomes very easy, so either Island or Lobuche, any of the peals, can be quickly undertaken.

In addition to the above, another alternative can be Gokyo Peak to Everest Base Camp or Island Peak. The itineraries for any of the routes remain comparatively similar, 17 or 28 days, and the routes for any of the cases remain the ideal to acclimatize one’s body, making it physically and mentally fit for undertaking extraordinary stereotypes. To search for more details, inquire us; any required information will be served instantly.

Trekking Climbing Peak for Everest Base Camp and Island Peak will hike along the Dudh Koshi River, through Himalayan pine and cedar forests, to reach the well-known village of Namche Bazaar. In the past, Nepalese and Tibetan traders would exchange salt, dried meat, and textiles here. Today, Namche is still an important trading post in the Khumbu region, where Himalayan and lowland merchants come to trade. Trekkers or climbers can shop for traditional crafts, explore local markets, and spend time with your team during our two-day stay in Namche. On our way to Namche, we’ll catch our first glimpse of Everest and neighboring peaks.

Day 05: To acclimatize hike from Namche Bazaar to Everest View Hotel

Today, the team will take it easy and allow their body to adjust to the high altitude. To acclimatize to the altitude, the team will hike to Syangboche Airport, which is situated at an elevation of 3780 meters and is considered the one of highest airstrips in the world. From there, we’ll continue our climb to Everest View Hotel, where the team enjoys stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Tawache, and other peaks.

Day 06: To Tengboche (3860m) from Namche, 5 hours

The trekking team will take a beautiful and easy trail that leads to a fantastic view of Mount Everest. The trekking group will first descend into the Dudh Koshi Valley at Phungki Thanka and then ascend to the Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual centre of the Khumbu region. From there, you will see stunning views of Mount Ama Dablam and, on clear days, Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks. Tengboche is located at the junction of the Dudh Koshi and Imja rivers, surrounded by ridges covered in alpine woods. Here, the trekker may even spot Danphe birds in the forests.

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m), 5 hours

Today, trekkers will walk through beautiful forests and cross the Imja Khola River before trekking through the village of Pangboche (3900m). Along the way, the most attractive point of today’s trekking is that for the entire day, trekkers will have the opportunity to enjoy views of the stunning Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, and several other peaks. Everest Base Camp trekkers will then pass through pastures to reach Dingboche, known as the ‘summer valley.’ Dingboche boasts a kilometer-long wall constructed to protect the village’s crops. The trail is also decorated with Mani Stone walls.

Overnight at guest, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 08: Hiking to Nagerjun (5100m) and return Dingboche, 6 hours

This will be the second acclimatizing station, and the target of this acclimatization is to cover the atmosphere and heights of Kalapathar vintage point and Everest base camp. Today, trekkers need to hike for about six hours to reach an altitude of 5100 meters. After breakfast, you’ll climb up Nagerjun, a hill located on the flank of the Chukkung valley, which is directly above Dingboche. The main objective is to climb high and sleep low. The footpath can sometimes be steep, making it a physically strenuous day. It may take up to five hours to ascend the hill at altitude. From this height, a clear view of Lobuche East (6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kantega, and Ama Dablam with an altitude of 6856m will astonish all the members of the team. Any time the weather in the region remains clear, one can see the fifth highest Mount Makalu. Because of this altitude environment, hiking to descend back to Dingboche continues to take about two hours. After lunch, you can rest as temperatures drop rapidly in the afternoon as the sun sets over the mountain tops.

Overnight at the guesthouse in Dingboche includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 09: To Lobuche (4910m), 5 hours

Trekkers with an unusually tough trail will have to hike through Thukla Valley, between the Lobuche and Dingboche. During our trek, trekkers will have the chance to visit the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche. The post is managed by Western volunteer doctors and supported by the Himalayan Rescue Association. It provides medical treatment and consultation to hikers, ensuring they can continue their journey peacefully.
After exiting the valley, the trekking team heads through Lobuche’s yak pastures to Lobuche camp, where the Everest Region trekking team will spend the night at a cozy guesthouse. Delicious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be provided, and we’ll wake up to stunning views of the surrounding landscape the following day, ready to continue our adventure.

Straight ahead, you’ll catch sight of Kalapathar – a vantage point offering an unparalleled panoramic view of the awe-inspiring south face of Mt. Everest and the majestic peaks surrounding it. After a few hours, we will get to Gorekshep and continue our journey to the Everest Base Camp. There is not much elevation gain, but there are a lot of ups and downs, and, combined with altitude, this can be an exhausting trek – but the journey is worth it. After approximately 3 hrs of hiking, you will arrive at the base camp and enjoy a magnificent view of the Khumbu glacier and icefall, from where the Everest expedition begins. Then, trekkers will return to Gorakshep.

Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Gorakshep, breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 11: Trek to Kalapathar (5545) - Gorekshep – Dingboche (4410m), 7 hours

Overnight at the guesthouse in Dingboche, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 12: To Chukkung village (4700m), 3 hours

It is highly recommended to hike to Chukkung, which is not tricky but will support you a lot in upcoming challenges. Consider a 3-hour round-trip hike to Chhukung Ri if you’re up for it. The views of the Himalayas from there are memorable.
Overnight at the guesthouse, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 13: Trek to Island Base Camp (5240m), 2 hours

After breakfast, we shall move to the Island Peak Base Camp. Overnight at tented camp, breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.
Take the breakfast. Finally, the climbing team will head to the long-awaited Island Peak Base camp, where the pre-climbing trekking training, will be organized after lunch. Day 16: Namche from Island Peak Base Camp (3440), 7 hours

Day 18: Lukla to Kathmandu

On about 35 35-minute flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, the climbing team will be backed to Kathmandu domestic airport and transferred to the hotel there.
Overnight at the hotel, including breakfast.

Day 19: Reserve day in Kathmandu:

Since the Lukla airport is on the foothill of the great white giant, the weather may be disturbed and suffering at any time. So, in any case (up and down), if there is any such thing to affect the day, this reserved day helps the trekking or climbing team out of their long journey, so the day has been designated accordingly.
Overnight at the hotel with breakfast included.

Tourism in the Nepal Himalayas has been popular since the 1970s and is now well-known for trekking. There are various routes available with different permissions based on the regulations attached to the characteristics of the route. For instance, the Himalayan trekking course towards Annapurna, the Everest Highway, and Langtang Valley requires a normal trekking permit and animal protection permit. The courses are divided into those that take you to the charm of spectacular views known in remote areas that cannot be entered without a trekking permit. Off-the-beaten routes like Mustang, Upper Dolpo, and Tsum Valley require special permits and procedures. Attached are some specimens of trekking permits and special permits for your review.

Are there any hospitals or health care centers in case they are needed?

Are there any hospitals or clinics on the trekking route, especially in the remote areas of the Solu-Khumbu region, such as the Everest Trekking Region?

Yes, there are hospitals and clinics located in Jiri, Lukla, Kunde, and Pheriche, which are popular spots along the Everest Highway trekking route. These facilities have been set up to reach assistance to the travellers in this area including altitude sickness. Altitude sickness is a unique condition that can be dangerous if left untreated.

For those visiting the Jomsom/Manang region in Annapurna, trekkers will have set up of hospital at Jomsom and Manang. This is to ensure that you can enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the area with a healthy body and mind. However, if you feel unwell or experience symptoms such as loss of appetite, fever, or diarrhea, which you suspect are not related to altitude sickness, please discuss your situation with your guide immediately and seek medical attention. We encourage you to prioritize your health and well-being by visiting hospitals and taking care of your health. It’s important to take care of your health while trekking. Some trekkers have experienced increased energy levels after trekking, while others have died from illnesses such as diarrhea, normal fever, and shortness of breath due to ignoring the warnings of altitude sickness.

Therefore, it is highly recommended to visit these established clinics and hospitals to ensure your well-being while trekking.

In the popular trekking routes, there are various health facilities like hospitals and clinics except for the remote areas. Even in remote areas, there are some healthcare facilities available, but for critical cases all these small hospital booth refers patients to the main cities for better care.

Altitude sickness, countermeasures against traffic sickness, characteristics of altitude sickness, etc.

Altitude sickness is a condition that affects individuals differently. Even experienced mountain climbers or high-altitude trekkers may experience altitude sickness, while beginners may not be affected even when they exceed the normal altitude. Altitude sickness usually occurs when the altitude exceeds 3000m.

The best way to prevent altitude sickness is to climb slowly. If you feel any discomfort, it’s important to consult your guide and descend the mountain. You can avoid altitude sickness by choosing a reasonable route and gradually increasing the altitude. If you’re planning to trek in Nepal, it’s important to learn more about altitude sickness beforehand. We have over a decade of experience as mountain experts, so we can assist with altitude sickness or other illnesses that may arise during trekking.

    Clothing and equipment:

When planning a trekking trip in Nepal, it’s important to prioritize your physical and mental health. Choose clothing that is comfortable, flexible, and can adapt to changing weather conditions. Trekking often involves spending nights in lowlands and highlands, so it’s important to prepare for significant temperature changes between day and night. In the Everest region, mornings and evenings are cold while afternoons can be sunny, so pack accordingly. Here are some essential items to bring on your trek: appropriate clothing and equipment, a healthy mindset, and a fit body.

    Trekking season

The ideal trekking season in Nepal is from March to May, and from September to November or mid-December. Although it often rains from June to August, it is still considered a comfortable season for trekking in the Mustang and Dolpo area, which is the far northern remote part of Nepal. In autumn, from September to December, the skies are clear, and the Himalayas are beautiful. From December to February, the weather is bitterly cold, and snow falls at altitudes above 3,000 meters. However, if you are well-prepared, you can fully enjoy your trip. Spring fog begins in March, and the outlook becomes more difficult than we hoped for. Even if it is sunny after May, it is not suitable for trekking due to the rainy season.

    Lodging and meals:

Private rooms are available for sightseeing in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and other towns. However, for short treks and high-altitude Himalayan base camp treks, you will need to stay in a lodge. You’ll be served Nepalese dishes including dal bhat, fried noodles, chowmein, and thukpa (noodles with vegetables), as well as Western foods like French toast, toast, stir-fried vegetables, garlic soup, vegetable soup, omelets, dumplings, pizza, pancakes, and porridge. Additionally, you can also enjoy Tibetan dishes and boiled rice. The availability of menu items like potatoes, French fries, fried dumplings, squirt bread, steak, and more will depend on the price plan.

    Bedroom:

When trekking, you will usually be staying in rooms for two people instead of individual ones. During the busy seasons, you may have to sleep in a dormitory. If you are trekking to Everest or Annapurna between September and December, which is a popular route with fewer people in the group, you may even end up using a sleeping bag and sleeping in an empty dormitory.

The bed will come with a comforter and pillow, but if you tend to feel cold, it’s best to bring your sleeping bag. Make sure to check if you need a thicker sleeping bag depending on the trekking season. In some cases, the toilets may be located outside the lodge, so it’s a good idea to bring a raincoat and a flashlight. Remember to carry a flashlight with you, as the roads can be unfamiliar and dangerous.

    Meal

In addition to Nepalese dal and bhat, there are a variety of dishes available such as porridge, papad, omelets, fried and boiled eggs, boiled potatoes, udon-style (mixed veg with noodle) soup with side dishes, stir-fried vegetables, tarkari (curry) fried noodles-style chowmein (fry noodle), pancakes, French toast, toast, sandwiches, boiled dumplings, meat and vegetable soup, fried rice, sweets, candy, bread, biscuits, snacks, and potato chips.

    Eco program

Nepal is a popular destination for mountaineering, trekking, and peak climbing enthusiasts. The country boasts of untouched natural beauty, but in recent years, due to increasing development plans and population, deforestation and environmental pollution have become serious issues. Nepal is now experiencing the effects of global warming. As Nepal is a challenging site for trekkers, climbers, and tourists from various countries, it is important to avoid any acts that may cause pollution and harm to the environment.

Our company is committed to preserving the natural beauty of Nepal and avoiding pollution caused by tourists. We request our customers to dispose of all the garbage they generate during their trekking tours responsibly. Our company employs highly knowledgeable human resources (guides) for nature conservation and urges all customers to be mindful of preserving nature and contributing to the next generation. We request our customers to use the garbage bins set up by SPCC, ACAP, MCAP, etc. to avoid littering or to take their garbage home with them.

It would be beneficial to use this website to appeal to all agents and bookers worldwide, to ensure that they are not charged for causing pollution or littering the environment. This action should be taken with mutual understanding so that all of us involved agree with the measures taken to prevent pollution and littering.

    Note

The Thamel district, a popular tourist area, has seen an increase in the number of children and adults begging on the streets. However, giving them money may not be the best way to help them, as it could hinder their development and perpetuate the idea that society bears the burden. Instead, it’s important to avoid such behavior and if you feel compelled to help, offer them food that is ready to eat, like pieces of bread or biscuits. This would prevent them from selling it for money. It’s also a good idea to educate these children about their social responsibilities.
